Jo Willis

Associate Coach

Jo has been coaching and mentoring since 2000. She works with a wide range of individuals including Company Directors and Managers of small to medium businesses developing personal potential, professional competencies and leadership skills. Jo has over 20 years experience in working both in and with the public, not for profit and private sector. She has designed and facilitated ‘Well-being Workshops and is skilled in working with those experiencing transition and change in their personal or professional lives.

Jo has a passion for development, facilitating clients in creating fundamental shifts in their capacities. Her person centered coaching approach draws from extensive experience, rigorous studies, empirical research and positive psychology to facilitate both expedient and sustainable change.

Qualifications

Jo trained as a Social worker and was a senior practitioner and specialist in the field of Adoption for the Ministry of Social Development for 22 years. She holds a Diploma in Counselling and an MA (Merit) Coaching and Mentoring Practice from Oxford Brookes University Oxford, United Kingdom. This is the International Centre for Coaching and Leadership Development in Europe.

Professional Development

Jo is actively involved in promoting the provision of university coaching qualifications here in New Zealand. She is a member of the NZ Coaching Community Group which promotes the professionalism of coaching, the NZ Special Interest Group in Coaching Psychology which seeks to promote best practise and professional development opportunities. Jo is a current member of the UK based Association for Coaching, NZ Association of Counsellors, NZ Association of Social Workers, and the NZ Positive Psychology Association
