Sam has over 10 years’ experience developing training programmes and coaching professionals in the public sector in relation to risk-based decision making, change management and organisational commitment. Specialising in working with new generation leaders, he has developed the Team Engagement Checklist © as a pre/post-coaching measure to ascertain the level to which team engagement has been achieved.

Sam has held managerial, supervisory and coaching positions in the health, social and criminal justice sectors in England and New Zealand. Recent clients include CYFS, Department of Corrections, a large telco, MSF, SIM and District Health Boards. He has also trained professionals within the South Australia Correctional Services Agency.

Actively promoting the development of coaching psychology in New Zealand, Sam is working with a number of people and organisations here and overseas to increase the professional credibility and integrity of coaching standards and practices in New Zealand. He himself provides and receives regular supervision and training.

Sam is also part of a group practice (www.aucklandpsychology.co.nz) and provides individual coaching and counselling to professionals who have experienced work-based trauma or stress (e.g. arrival/return from overseas, conflict, bullying).

He is a Founder Member of the Society for Coaching Psychology; MNZPS
