Professor David Lane
Professor David Lane is the Research Director of the International Centre for the Study of Coaching at Middlesex University and a senior international executive coaching practitioner. He is best known for his work in the development of professional standards in mentoring and coaching for the European Mentoring & Coaching Council and is the author of ‘The Case for Coaching'.
David is best known for his outstanding contribution to the development of research and professional standards in mentoring and coaching. His work is firmly anchored in research on business successes as well as practical experience, drawing from his career in business and consultancy and from his background in occupational psychology and human resourcing. David's approach is about value creation, appropriate behaviours and systems to support achievement of results.
David developed a Masters programmes in Executive Coaching, which is now taught in the USA, South Africa and the UK, and the first Professional Doctorate programme in coaching. He has worked with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council on Codes of Conduct and Standards and has researched and developed the standards for the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches' Certified Master Business Coach award. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
