NZMC Present at ASTD and Clinical Supervision Conferences in USA

In June New Zealand Mentoring Centre directors Aly McNicoll and Wendy Baker travelled the USA to present a workshop at the  ASTD 2008 International Conference in San Diego on 'The Power of Peer Mentoring Groups - tools for learning in the connected organisation'.

This conference attracted 12,000 delegates, and as workshop leaders they are standing alongside Ken Blanchard, Marshall Goldsmith and a host of other leadership legends.

'Last year's experience was worth its weight in gold in terms of feeling up to date with international trends and practice.' says Aly McNicoll. 'There is always so much you can bring home that is of value to our clients here in NZ and Australia.'

Aly and Wendy also deliver another workshop on the related peer supervision model at the International Interdisciplinary Clinical Supervision Conference in Buffalo, New York.

'It was interesting to talk with practitioners from the health, social service and education sectors about supervision practice in the US and see how they responded to the concept of peer supervision. Typically supervision is a hierarchical process in the USA, but there has been a great deal of interest in this approach' says Wendy Baker.
