Introduction To Supervision for Health Professionals (In-House)

This course provides an excellent introduction to supervision for new or beginning supervisors and provides skills for supervising others in their own discipline area. Aimed at senior clinicians or staff who are moving in to supervision roles or beginning to supervise others, it is suitable for new or experienced supervisors.

Objectives

By the end of this training participants will be able to

  • Define supervision, the roles and responsibilities of the supervisor

  • Discuss models of supervision and relate them to supervision practice

  • Establish supervision relationships with staff

  • Use a range of tools and skills to facilitate supervisee learning and reflection

  • Manage a one to one supervision session as a new supervisor.
